2025 a year —let’s be honest— complicated for corridos, marked by unnecessary censorship and other challenges within the industry.
It was also a year where the phrase “evolve or die” truly came to life in the best possible way. Amid everything the Mexican music industry went through, many artists leaned into other genres like reggaeton or dembow to keep standing out… and they delivered solid results.
Still, far from losing momentum, corridos didn’t slow down. Instead, they continued to grow and solidify themselves as one of the strongest genres on a global level. Let’s be real—who doesn’t get fired up by a good corrido tumbado or bélico?
This is our 2025 recap—from January through the closing of this edition—highlighting some of the key moments of the year.
