Recently, Luis R Conriquez and Peso Pluma released their new collaboration titled “Bandida,” a highly anticipated track among fans of regional Mexican music.

On this occasion, I had the opportunity to work on a cover art concept, using behind-the-scenes resources from the music video shoot and drawing inspiration from the ambiance of the photos. I incorporated various scenes showcasing Luis R Conriquez and Peso Pluma interacting with other characters to give it a deep “storytelling” vibe, in the style of a movie poster.

From the first draft, the goal was always to enhance the song’s aesthetic and connect with the audience. It’s worth noting that this cover art was already approved in the final stage and included in the official pre-save link for distribution by The Orchard. However, for reasons beyond our control, another option was ultimately chosen as the official version. Still, it was amazing to see how the image went viral on social media, being used by fans, the media, podcasts, and even YouTubers to discuss the release and react to the song and official video.

It was also very rewarding to see that some elements from the original design became part of the digital campaign and the official title of the music video, which was produced by the renowned production company Herokids.

This project holds special meaning for me because I previously had the opportunity to design the cover for Siempre Pendientes, the first collaboration between Luis R Conriquez and Peso Pluma. That track is an iconic piece of Mexican music that marked a turning point in both artists’ careers and the genre itself.

At the end of the day, what matters most is how music and design come together to create a complete experience for the audience.

I’m grateful to Kartel Music for always considering me and for allowing me to be part of this project and in some way, continuing to contribute to the growth of Mexican music in the industry.

A fun fact is that I designed the cover for Bandida while I was on vacation in Venezuela, spending Christmas with my family. It was a special moment, as I worked remotely from abroad, away from my studio, and was still able to deliver the same quality of artwork for such an important project in Mexican music.

To wrap things up, here’s the link to the official video so you can continue supporting the track, available on Luis R Conriquez’s official YouTube channel:
